Mattebox + Ana Adapter without Mod?

Hi there. I'm doing a shoot with the DVX-100 this weekend and I'm borrowing the camera and the anamorphic adapter from a friend. I want to rent out the Chrosziel mattebox so I can use filters but my friend won't let me modify the anamorphic adapter because he says it will void his insurance on it. So my question is...Why do you need to modify the adapter, is it just for the fit, or is there vignetting issues? Is there any way around this? Will an Arri 6x6 work without the modification?

Yes the Arri 6x6 will work without modification. No the Chrosziel won't fit without the modification. If you're just renting, the Arri would be the way to go...
