Matteblox and UV causing Vingetting

I am using both the base Matteblox and a UV filter and I am getting vingetting with this combination up to like Z19. I pulled the UV and it is gone.

I don't want to run the DVX naked without the UV, anyone else have suggestions.

Hi,

It sounds as though you got the wrong size matte box. But let's go back to the fundamental, are you also using the anamorphic lens?

And which mattbox, specifcally did you buy?

Best,

Jan

..you need to get this :

i use a uv and the standard adaptor all the time, but i never shoot too wide so i dont get vignetting. but this would take care of it for you if you like to shoot wider shots.

Re: Matteblox and UV causing Vingetting

..id buy one myself , but they charge so much for the thing, and it hasnt been a real issue for me since i almost always shoot letterbox which means the vignetting is masked out by the black bars anyway.

Re: Matteblox and UV causing Vingetting

..in the grand scheme of things i suppose 35 + shipping isnt too much, but for what your getting its rather dissapointing considering you can buy a whole 72mm cheap glass filter for 6.00. it must be the quantity of the items made is too low so the manufacturing costs are higher. :-/

Re: Matteblox and UV causing Vingetting

I just bought the matteblox kit and I ordered the adapter because the site said that if you attached a filter to the lens you would get Vingetting. I want to keep the lens protected so I thought I should buy it. I agree it is pretty expensive.
