Matte box or just bigger filters?

Hello
Currently I have a GH2--and have already ordered the Blackmagic camera
I don't have any filters currently and was thinking about getting a set of ND filters
I'd like the option to switch between the two cameras and it seems using either a larger filter and step down/up rings along or buying some 4x4 and using a matte box is a better idea

is there one you guys recommend?
thanks!

mattebox and filters would definitely be easier - but more bulky and more costly

depends on what, and how you shoot.
and of course, as david mentioned - BUDGET

ah yes
I was thinking along the lines of $250-300
i think that it seems vari filters are in that price range--i found a tiffen vari for $150
maybe I could use that until more funds come up? This is for an outdoor wedding in a month

You wont find any mattebox glass NDs for that price, maybe one 4x5.65 ND for around 250$ but not for a whole set AND mattebox. For that price the Tiffen vari may fit you best, try getting a very big one and use step down rings so you can use smaller and larger lenses on it

yes i was thinking
I think getting a tiffen vari for $150 is the best option i have since all of my lens are 50mm or below
but when people look at sharpness do they count the crop factor?
