Hello all - I'm looking into getting a matte box and a follow focus rig for our DVX100a and wanted to get some equipment recommendations.
I've used a 4x4 Cavision matte box before (not sure of the model number - it was similar to the MB410H but it had rail support) and was pretty pleased with it. I've never used a follow focus rig for this camera, but I'm getting tired of pulling focus with the ring on the standard lens.
I'm just arbitrarily assuming a budget of $1500-2000. We've been shooting feature films with the camera and will continue to use it for that and the occasional short. About 30% of our shoots are outdoors during daylight and we're not looking to shoot with a wide angle or anamorphic adapter any time soon. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but we're shooting in 24P mode and tend to do a lot of long lens type shots to compress the field of focus and give us a more film-like look.
