Matt McDermitt's Latest...

no dvx here... he did some pretty impressive stuff with the DVX back a year or so ago.. and hes been spotted and gobbled up by those hollywood folks, and this is his first big project as I know it.. not my bag of tea (backstreat boys) but his lighting (if he indeed lit it) is fantastic.

This is a big budget shoot, shot on 35mm.

Sorry for not saying that.

He had a crew, but he hated them, said they were all lazy and whatnot.

He also edited it.

I doubt it.
He said HMI brought in cheap guys to save money, and it was a mess.

But he says that about all his shoots. So who really knows?

I'm pretty sure everyone here hates this band, but the video is done very well. You said 35mm? (35mm with dvx or 35mm camera)

I shut it off half way through, as I'm not a big Backstreetboys fan at all. But, how do you think they went from normal speed to fast to silky perfect SUPER slow motion?

That all variable frame rate in camera, just hoping it looks good & timing it perfectly (since it's 35MM, they'd have to wait for dailies to see the result), or can that be done in any of our NLE's with some work (i.e. Vegas)?

I dont know if that was twixtor.. it is possible though that they shot the entire thing fast speed and slowed it down.. alot of Music Videos are starting to do it. If he did use twixtor, it worked pretty well.
