Matrox MXO expert?

Hi all:

I own the BMD HD Link. I also own two Sony 17" LCD computer/video monitors. I plan on shooting with two HD SDI capable cameras and need to use these Sonys as our field monitors for the director. My BMD HD Link is a box that takes in HD SDI and outputs DVI, which the Sonys can input. The signal stays all digital and looks pretty good.

My question is, the director owns a Matrox MXO (not the MXO 2). Can the MXO be used as a standalone HD SDI to DVI convertor box like my BMD HD Link?

If anyone knows this, let me know. I would rather not have to buy or rent another device if the director's MXO can be put to work.

Doesn't look like it--DVI input only, I believe. (I have an MXO, but never tried anything but DVI in.) Here's a link to the user guide:

Thanks Kwoff. Now that you mention, that totally makes sense. I keep forgetting the MXO is only a display device so it would not take in HD SDI, it would output it, right?

Yes, it does output HD-SDI, although I have never used it. I only use the MXO with a 23" ACD for HD monitoring, and think it is quite good for that purpose..
