Matrox display dilemma

hi hi there, quick question for you matrox mxo users, I've just set up mine as you can see I have dual 1080p lcd's and one sony sd ntsc monitor, here is my puzzle
everything looks good and in the settings for the mxo I have the option for "downconvert hd to sd" checked, and on those options you can choose anamorphic/letterbox/centercut
I have a 720p dvcprohd sequence on there and set the matrox to downconvert hd to sd via anamorphic, now why is it that the image on the sd ntsc monitor look perfect?
I mean it does not look letterbox or centercut, and last time I checked the only way to convert hd to sd was via letterbox or center cut so someone please correct me here on what is going on, I know I should not be complaining but I just wonder what is going on
and my last question is that how do you output an sd version of the hd sequence like matrox advertises as one of the key features of the mxo

thanks guys

I don't have a Matrox MXO yet, nor do I know all the tech specs of that box, but here goes:

Obviously the video in the NTSC monitor is cropped, compared to the 16:9 video in the flat screen. Some video is cut from both edges, left and right. To my knowledge, it means "center cut". Or I could be wrong?

Anyway: I guess the first thing I would check was that all the drivers for software and MXO are updated, because if the video in the video monitor is center cut, MXO is feeding the wrong signal instead anamorphic?

I guess there are lot of options in the MXO controller software, so double checking those is critical.

Another thing comes to mind: is the video you're editing natively square or NTSC pixel ratio? Because it looks like the woman in the video monitor is actually slightly narrower, thinner than the one in the LCD...? So LCD is showing the image in square pixels and the monitor in television pixels? Or it could be the angle of the pic that does it.
