Matrox APVe Question

Hey all,

I'm looking for a way to output my HD timeline onto an HDTV. I heard the Matrox APVe was a good option if monitoring is all I'm looking for (which it is), but I had one question. I already have dual monitors hooked up to a Geforce 8800 GT which work fine, but I would I have to uninstall my Geforce to use the Matrox card? Could I get by with just the HDTV hooked up to the card and still have my dual monitor setup on my Geforce, or should I just go ahead and get the Matrox RT.X2 (again, monitoring solution is all I'm really in need of right now).

I'm running on a Dell XPS 720 with Premiere Pro CS3 and Vista (and I'll be using an HVX200A soon and mostly shooting 720p on P2). Sony Bravia 32" 720p LCD is what I'm trying to output to.

Thanks, any info is greatly appreciated!

Checked the site. BlackMagic says their cards are not compatible with Dell workstations, so that rules that out. Anyone have any other info on the APVe card?

I have an APVe, I use dual VGA monitors and component HD all at once. It works pretty well, at least better than the nNvidia Quadro NVS that I had before. One problem is that when I'm using AE and Ppro at the same time, AE takes precidence over the video out, so it no longer works for the Ppro project until I restart Ppro.

I know there are some limitations to the DVI outs- I'm not sure if you can do dual DVI out + component HD at the same time.

I also use APVe with a HDTV ,and the picture on tv is not better then a dv,so u don't want to look it anymore and get use to again your monitor. But when you finish the project its nice to see hole project in a big screen.Otherwise there is no meaning of this set-up(because it is not broadcast referance monitor,so no thrue color sampling or contrast range)It is just a piece of s...it.I am still looking forward to see the real quality of my HD footage:( But i couldn't find someone around here to give the right answer..everyone says smthng
:)
