Matrix 4 - The Super Matrix

Hi all,

I was hoping for some lively debate on this, so here it goes.

I know that many people loved the Matrix Trilogy just as it ended in The Matrix Revolutions; but I'm guessing there were also many who wished that it would continue on. Well, I’m one of the latter. I saw a whole new level where it could go. So, for fun I wrote another episode called Matrix 4 - The Super Matrix and I thought some people might like to read it.

It's a completely new extension of the Matrix Trilogy and a bit of a mind bender, if I do say so myself. The story paints a picture of what might have happened before The Matrix and after The Matrix Revolutions; sort of a prequel/sequel, I guess. For me it ties a lot of loose ends together and brings the story full circle. If you're interested, you can download the full-length screenplay from my site

Unless the Wachowski brothers or Warner Brothers approaches me, I have no illusions about this being made into a real movie. And I make no money or benefit from the story other than the fun of writing it and the pleasure of hearing people's comments. This screenplay is purely for the reading enjoyment of all those who love and believe in the Matrix mystique.

If you read it, please come back here and let me know what you think. I'd love to know. Thanks and happy reading.

P.S. If this post is in the wrong place, please let me know. PD Wood

I am one of those people who were happy with ending in the first Matrix. Reloaded and Revolutions were already redundant. The Super Matrix idea is fine and one it somewhat resembles what I hoped Revolutions would be.

But I did not like the "preclude" parts in the scripts and to me, Neo is the only one I want to concentrate on and would have wished to see what happened later. I did not get bored reading this and between this and the Matrix sequels...I do not know which one wins. Still, not on the level of the original.

To me the Super Matrix idea would have made more sense had the Zion world just been another robot constructed world. A backup world. If someone got out of the first one they would at least never get out of the backup world. That is something I would want to see.

ThereIsNoLimit,

Thanks for reading and critiquing the screenplay and I'm certainly glad it didn't bore you. Like you, I also kind of imagined that Revolutions would have gone in a direction somewhat like that of the Super Matrix idea.

I like your idea of Zion being a backup machine construct; that could go many places. I'm surprised, though, that you didn't like the prequel part of the script. I thought it helped explain a lot of what was setup in Reloaded and never really followed up on in Revolutions.

But thanks again for reading it and giving me specific comments. Always helpful to know what does and doesn't work.
