Material to block light

[DVX100Shooter]

What is the material called to block unwanted light. I am not talking about Black Wrap. This material is a cloth type material that you can hang in front of windows, etc. to block light. I would also want to use something like this for shooting documents. I could place the black cloth on a table then place the documents on top of that. I have used a black bed sheet before though.

Re: Material to block light

it's pronounced Doo-vah-teen. I don't know how it's spelled, but Duvateen is a blind guess.

Duvatyne is nice, but it is very expensive. If you want to block some light from windows which won't be visible in your shot, then try some black visqueen held in place with duct tape. You can get huge rolls of the stuff for like $3.00 a roll.

You can buy some black velvet or velvetine from a fabric store to use as a background for documents, etc.
