Matching Golden Hour CT with Tungsten

Hello all, I'm getting ready to shoot my first short film later this spring and am pretty inexperienced in the lighting area. I have a few shots on a shady front porch during golden hour. I'm going to fill with tungsten, but am not sure how to match the golden hour color temp. I know 3200k is too hot, but I'm pretty sure a CTB filter would bring it up too much. I'm thinking maybe a magenta/purple gel might do the trick.. any guidance?

If you want those wonderful last rays of golden sunlight this is what you do. Set the camera to daylight. Put your tungsten fresnel at max throw move it away and low so it's coming from the horizon. Now put a single CTO (full) on your light. Should bring the color temp of your light to around 2500K. Balance it in strength with the available light until it looks natural in the viewfinder. Now have fun with your shoot. The warms and cools will make for a wonderful image if done right.

cheers,
Robert K
