I've got a shoot in about two weeks. I'll be using my DVX100A as camera ONE and a rented HVX200A as camera TWO. It's a live event, both cameras rolling for about 40mins.
I want the footage to be perfectly matched, looking good. Here's what I THINK I'm going to do, and I would like for you to shoot holes through my plans.
Use MiniDV in both, forgetting about HD altogether
Shoot the DVX100A in "squeeze"
Capture into FCP as Standard Definition, 16:9
That should stretch the DVX100 footage, and keep the HVX200 footage both at 16:9
export to iDVD (LOL) as a 16:9 project
I hope this will view on widescreen TV's as the entire screen, and on 4:3 TV's letterboxed. Now the real question: am I an idiot?
as always,
thank you very much,
-Cameron
