Thanks for the info.

It kills the battery fast? What's the best battery solution?

I heard the SDI version is not on the market yet.

The Marshall V-LCD70P-HDA 7″ LCD Monitor HDSDI model will be shipping in March.
I have the component model which is just awesome. It has a few features that the 8" Panasonic has - red peaking and pixel to pixel. Yet - the Marshall is what...half the cost? If you don't need waveform, which is cool, the Marshall is worth looking at.

On the Marshall you can use both red peaking and pixel to pixel at the same time. Which is very cool. I have mine programmed via the 4 buttons on front for Red Peaking, pixel to pixel, false color and still store. Yeah, you can shoot a wide shot, say of a person leafing through a magazine, now when you go if for your close up, you can bring up the still of the wide and match the action. Did the person turn the page with their left hand or right hand? Still store comes in handy!

As for battery life, hmm, I'll have to do a time lapse test with a clock next to it and just let it run to see how long we're getting. It seems to be about the same as my IKAN 8" using Sony "L" batteries. I have two of the slim batteries and 3 of the big ones so I'm good all day.
There is also a cool feature called "False color" which is cool. You'll have to take a look at the diagram in the PDF I uploaded to see why you would want to use it. Read about it here in the manual http://dvestore.com/images/V-LCD70P-HDA.pdf

Don't forget we give DVXuser's a discount, so if you're interested in one lemme know :)

Thanks Guy,
March? 'Coming Soon'... A bit disapointing.
It's marketing 2008/09. Companies copying Red. From now on 'coming soon' means 6 months waiting.

But Guy, what do you think. Is the SDI worth waiting for? Will it be sharper?

Most of my monitors have to be looked at in a certain position or else they look too light. Is this the nature of an LCD and does this monitor act that way as well? Thanks.

Actually, I've had a pre-production model of the HDMI version for a few weeks now and it is well worth waiting for. I was offered an HDSDI model, I'll give them a ring and get one. If I can make the time, I'll put up a youtube video showing both the IKAN and the Marshall.

If I can get this video up, I'll show the side to side and dead on angle views of the IKAN and the Marshall to give you an idea of how they'll perform.
