Can anyone direct me to the correct CF for the above please, I have tried 1gig and 4 gig latest by belkin, when you switch on it requires you to format, which I do via the internal format routine for the 1 gig, and it allows me to record playback, but if I switch the machine off and then switch back on again, it asks me to format the card again, as I dont have the original CF for it, I dont know what manufacture you should use... can any one help please..

You can go to their site and look for approved CF cards. However this sounds a bit like a recorder problem. I have a PMD-671 so it's pretty close and I have used Sandisk with out problems.

The 670 is older and may have a size limit. I can use up to 4 gigs but I don't think I can use 8 with out upgrading the firmware. You might call Marantz and see if there is a firmware upgrade that would be of use. You have to send the box to them to get it done but it might be worth it.

I used a Dennon unit (Very similar to the 670) and it had an issue with not recognizing cards. Since it wasn't mine I don't know what happened to it.

I would first try some older/ slower CF cards just to see if that is an issue, but I suspect you need it serviced.
