many recent movie trailers

perhaps

Ever since Barbershop or so, it seems that trailer after trailer for upcoming movies use the same ridiculous logo splash screen at the end. I'm sure you've all seen it recently..

The screen is filled with black/white circular (radial) gradient, and the movie title is usually black/red and slowly increases in size. However, it looks nearly exactly the same for everything.

I'm really sorry I can't actually remember the specific titles of these movies..they're usually trivial relationship comedies and the like (think Steve Martin & Queen Latifah).

Can anyone tell me why something like this would happen? What the hell causes all of these trailers to use the same style of splash screen at the end? It's certainly not to distinguish themselves from other movies.. and the effect certainly isn't that pretty. Ugh, it bothers me!

Marketers aren't that original most of the time, so if something works for one movie they port it over to another hoping to build some association with a film that did well.

I remember a similar thing happening around the time of "The Faculty" where suddenly every single movie poster has the cast standing in a "V"Shape with the main character in the front and the rest of the cast staggered behind him/her. God I hate those posters.

Nah...you're right. And should probably hit that thread and point out the been-there/done-that-ness of the layout.

Oh sure, I should be the bearer of bad news?
:)

Anyhow, didn't mean to hijack the thread.
Point is, there are marketing trends and this seems to be one of them.
Not much more to it than that I think.

I like all the trailers.
and I feel that the commentar is also just the same.
