Manfrotto Tripod

My next purchase is going to be a fluid head tripod. For years I've relied on my $30 tripod, now I just graduated school and want to buy something nice.

I want to get that. I like the center column for quick height adjustments. I'm shooting quick on the go a lot so I chose the carbon legs. Anything else or any reasons why I shouldn't buy this??

If I got a ZaZaSlider would these not be the ideal legs for that? Or would I need some tougher legs to support the ZaZa?

I recently bought the heavier 535 w/the 503 HDV head. I wanted the heavier carbon fiber because of wind out here on the coast. with the ligher HMC150 on it, I felt I wanted something that was going to stay put in 30 mph winds. It's very nice, and could be backpacked into the hills. Not sure about your zaza, but the 503 is a pretty good sized head. I would not have wanted to go any lighter on the legs. No case, but buy a carrying strap for it. A clip attaches to the tripod base, and a wrap around keeps the legs together when carrying.

Manfrotto is running a $50 coupon on this also right now, until 1/30. Just sent my coupon in.

Sounds like a great tripod.

Thanks for that coupon I'll definately be buying soon.

Anyone else?

It's not the leg you should be worried about, it's the head. Or rather how the slider will mount to the head. With only a single point of contact on the QR plate, the slider setup won't be very stable. If you're using a slider another tripod or light stand on the other end is a must.
