Hi,
I purchased a Manfrotto 577 quick release adapter + 501pl plate with the notion that there were two 1/4"-20 female mounts at the bottom of the quick release unit. (Since it's even after B&H customer reps said so.) Only one of these female 1/4"-20 mounts work and then discovered from the manufacturer, that the other thread is a Metric m6 mount, and will not take 1/4"-20 screws in it. I also noticed that there is a hole - un drilled on the other end of the rapid connect unit.
My question is - is it possible to drill a 1/4"-20 hole in that undrilled hole? Or even re-size the m6 threaded hole? I have very little experience with power-drills or any home improvement projects and don't want to break anything in the process.
I'd appreciate any input or feedback about this matter. Thank you so much!
