We're using a Manfrotto 521PFI focus remote control with a Panasonic 170 and something's not right. When we adjust focus to the desired distance -- say, 30 feet -- it will drift down to 26 feet or maybe soar to infinity ... until we wrestle it undercontrol again.
As far as we understand, this issue is not a setting. Focus assistance setting on the 170 is OFF.
And when we remove the 521PFI, on-camera focus operates correctly -- we can set it on 30 feet -- or 10 feet or 20 feet or 63 feet or whatever -- and it doesn't drift or go off on it's own like when the 521PFI is attached.
Any ideas as to what the problem is?
