Manfrotto 509 opinions

I would like to get a 100mm head. Presently, I have some smaller Manfrotto fluid heads, so the idea of staying with their plate system is appealing. I have mixed feeling about Manfrotto in general, but I would compromise to avoid having to purchase hundreds of dollars in new plates. The older 526 and 519 heads have been discontinued in favor of the new 509. Has anyone used this head and have an opinion?

My present cams would never exceed 15# loaded.

Well, it turns out that many of the Sachtler heads WILL take the Manfrotto plates. I am still curious about the 509 though.
