Manfrotto 504hd quick release plate options

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone could let me know of any quick release plate options for the 504hd? I'm starting to shoot weddings so speed in setting up is quite important and I'm finding moving from the tripod to shoulder mount to be a bit of a pain. I've also got a jib which I would like to mount and it's taking me time unscrewing the long mount and moving it from one to the other.

I know that Manfrotto sell long mount plates but it's more of finding a compatable mount and plate.

ANy suggestions would be appreciated as at the moment, I've mounted a Giotto adapter to the 504hd but the quick release know sticks as it's too close to the 504 plate so there's still a lot of messing around.

Instead of adding another QR on top of your head consider just using Manfrotto's 577 on your jib, & shoulder rig.

Hi

I've got a couple of those on the shoulder mount and another on the tripod head, with plates mounted to the camera, crane & slider so that I can move the kit quicky between both but the problem I have is that the quick release knob rubs against top of the tripod head.

It would be better if there was a compatablie plate and adapter that takes the 504plong plates.

you are aware that the lever is ratcheted ? (pull and turn)

you can change its position so that is may not 'clash'

or Id look to put a 577 on a block to clear if off your sticks

Although it's racheted, it stills catches on the top of the head. That cinevate gismo looks like it'll do the trick nicely.

check my Kipp lever on my miller sticks, the 577 is M6 its an easy swap out but I had to cut the thread to exact lenght, cost $5

the lever happens to clear the head

You may note ive taken the 'safety' off too speeds up swap outs

Perhaps I'm confused, but why do have a 577 on top of the 504HD head? Their plates are compatible, & stacking these appears to be the cause of your problem.
