Making Tungsten Lights Gold

I agree a reflector is the way to go if you are trying to light up a face with "golden light". When you think about it, gold is not a single color. When you are trying to make something look like gold or golden in photoshop you can't just make it orange or yellow you have to make a gradient of some sort. A reflector will give you that nice variety of colors. It's also all about the angle at which the light is coming and how warm you are setting the color temperature on you camera. If you are trying to make a room look like sunset light is coming through the window then you should have it at a horizontal angle so that shadows are very horizontal. The closer you want it to sunset, the warmer you should make your color temperature or the more warming gels you should put on your lights depending on if you want there to be additional "room lights" in the scene.

I have Arri Tungsten lights (3200K), how would I make these lights have a golden light as if it was a sunset?
Test raising the color temperature setting of the camera. Start at 5600K and work your way down. The light will start very orange and move towards white as you lower the color temperature.

You can also try various strengths of CTO and amber gels.

I've done it both ways.

With a gold reflector, that wouldnt work if I wanted more of a hard light would it not?

I was thinking of shot that looks like CSI <-- I believe its CSI? They use a lot of gold light.
I wanted a scene that had a lot of gold like that.

I think you may be after a graduated filter, maybe a tobacco, or sunset grad. Have you tried an cto 1/2 or full on the tungston it'self. Maybe bounce some light with a gel onto a gold reflector, then tweak your white balance.
