Making things shake

I know there was a thread here a while ago. I dont have access to after effects, and I want an earthquake style shaking effect, but I dont want to have to zoom in and keyframe motion, because that would probably result in a lower resolution and would be far too tedious. I know there has to be a way to do it in FCP. Any ideas?
