Making text reflective...

I would like to try something I saw in a Photoshop tutorial and try it in MOTION or Livetype where you can take some text and transform it with either a bend inward or outward (if you choose) and then make a duplicate of that layer then flip it upside down and fade out 1/2 of the text on that layer. When its done, it should look like the bottom layer is a reflection of the top layer but with lower opacity. Anyone know how I can do this in Motion.

I sort of figure out some of it already. When I flip the duplicate layer it seems like its not the same size as Layer 1 and I need to use my Transform tool and resize it till it looks like it matches. In Photoshop, it does this automatically. I also Can't figure out how to put the bend in the text and fade out the text on the Duplicate layer as if it was fading into some water or whatever I have on the screen.

Oh yea I am using MOTION 2. I would do this in Photoshop but I am using the original CS Pro version. Some of the features like SMART OBJECTS are not included in my version unless i upgrade to CS2 or 3.

To do this in FCP, (can be done in Motion also, but different method)...dupicate (option-shift drag) the file from one track to two tracks above it leaving an empty track inbetween. Click on the bottom "reflecting" text track and apply a "Basic 3D" filter and use that to do the flop, rotate...-180 in the Y & Z axis.

Move it to where you want it reflecting. Now create a custom gradient from the little viewer button and make it white to black vertically and make the gradient narrower or wider as you see fit. Place this gradient on the second track between the two text objects. Control click on the gradient and go to composite>multiply. Place that sequence over your image you want reflecting into.
