Making Orbs more 3d

Hi. I'm new to all this. I'm trying to make my orbs looks more orb-like. I filmed a flashing light in my basement and then rotoscoped with the new cs5 to create this...

Is there a way to make the orbs more 3d or more realistic? Any links or ideas would be great without spending more money of course. I have the cs5 production premium.

Use CC Sphere that comes with AE.
Make a new solid, apply CC Sphere, change color/opacity/size over time.
