(I just posted this in HVX footage too, as I thought it applied to both of these threads fairly well)

This is a "making of" video from a film I have been working on for a while now, "Useless Things" still in post production. The making of was made specifically with Cinevate (the makers of the Brevis) in mind, and it shows it in action, using PL lenses, the matt box and rail system. There are many shots from the film, as well as a lot of behind the scenes material and thoughts. The link will bring you to the Cinevate site, and you can click on the movie there.

Hi Gilg*,

nice making of...........niiiice equipment....your footage is a good examples for ALL the amateurs here and show all relevant points:

1) You have to set light to get good images
2) You have to use a quality 35mm adapter (I prefer Brevis over Redrock & SgPro)
3) You have to use High Speed Lenses (The Arri are one of the best and are damn expensive)
4) You need the will and stamina to pull the stuff.

Respect. keep on going. Thanks for the link.

PS: excuse my poor english :-)

Thanks, and your english is just fine :)

I've been using Cinevate equipment for quite a while now and really have grown attached to it (as well as those Ziess Ultra Primes as well, but sadly, I couldn't keep them!)

I watched your bts vid, really cool. It's always nice when people sit down and go through what they use and why. Your production looks good too!

Mm ive stuck more than that on a 501 before...

JVCHD200 + SGpro + flip + follow focus and mattebox + lens + video transmitter and follow focus receiver + vlock battery.

Mmm, weighty.

It's not even about it not being able to support it locked off (which it sometimes can't) it's about getting a smooth range of motion with a rig that heavy.

Yeah, the 501 head was probably a little too small for us - but it is all we had due to a mix up in equipment booking. I definitely would have preferred to have something more heavy duty, but it did do the job.
