Making my own Blue Cards

I tend to make adjustments in post. My white balances are done off of white only.

All i can say is I wish I listened to JH when I first came to this forum... since buying the DVX I am now a true believer in doing a standard white balance then editing in post to get the look I want. Not using any other cameras at the moment so it could be different depending on what your using... but for the DVX I think it has a lot of advantages.

Did you run into some specific problems doing it the other way?

Perhaps I'm overlooking something, but so far I haven't run into any problems using a slightly tweaked white balance, meaning I've still been able to CC in post with no problem, though the goal is to not have to, but it didn't appear that I lost any control in post? ...perhaps I'm missing something obvious, please elaborate.

beyond using color cards, several times now I've shot using a previous white balance setting but liked the look as it pertained to the next shot I had... if I'm overlooking something detrimental then I'm definitely open to learning. thx in advance.
