Making Movies the Summer

I know that several of us have jobs in the "industry" but I wanted to know if anyone was taking advantage of the summer and working on a film of their own. So, what is everyone working on this summer? How are things going so far, and what are your hopes with this new project?

We've started a feature about night security guards that will hopfully be funny. We got a good crew together and are confident we can at least get it shot by the end of the summer. We're working hard, and trying to keep everyone motivated. Should be fun, but could also make me want to give up filmmaking forever! My hope is to get it finished, I'll just worry about that for now.

I'm shooting a romantic comedy this summer in Toronto - we start production in three weeks, and will be going for a month. I intend to have a cut finished for November.
 
Buddy comedy picture that started last Thursday. We plan on shooting off and on through August and hope to have something cut together by Christmas.

thriller in August. Still don't know if it's going to be short or a feature... Depending on my financial situation.
 
I'm using a DVX for the principle photography. There is a sequence that will likely be shot against a green screen - and I may rent an SDX for the weekend to be able to key in 4:2:2. I may skip the green screen sequence altogether, though - and have it shot entirely with a DVX.
 
Hope fully will be shooting a doc in Late June through July. and then we will start post on that want to have it done for Qctobor for the festival season. Thin I am working with a screen write right now to polish up a script for a 30 to 40 min short and would like to start shooting that at the end of July.
 
Just a bunch of Misc activity for me; learning and practicing whether it be the monthly DVXFEST or random Green Screen or conceptual shorts. Honing is my goal throughout the summer.
 
Our film is a narrative, but shot with the DVX in 4:3 in a "doc" style (handheld, etc.) You got to play to your strengths right?

warming up with the May/June DVXFest short...

then tackling my first music video for Phantasm ...

then I should be good and ready to start my next original short (or perhaps first feature!) depending on which story idea I feel the strongest about. Just tossing around a million ideas at this point with several people.

All will be shot on the DVX100A as that's the only camera I own!
 
Here in Ohio there is always a flurry of short films being shot in the warm months.

I'm the DP on a thriller that's being shot now, I'm an AD on a sci-fi shooting in June, I might be producing another thiller shooting in July, I just auditioned for a role in a feature shooting late in the summer, I'm directing my own short film on Saturday, and I have two feature scripts I'm trying to set up the funding for.

Finishing post production on a music video - final is set to be released in August.

Starting pre production in a week and half on another video for a local hip hop chica, and I'm scheduled to start pre production for jonjames in the last third of the summer months...

Oh and I'm moving out to St. Louis park in two weeks... damn so much stuff to do
