Hi there,
I'm making 2 projects with FCP6, the software is on the local disk, and my footage is on a 4TB G-technologie HDD drive plugged in through a Firewire800.
I transcoded my footage to ProRes 422 HQ. Since I started working those project I got problems : Program freeze, low start playback, etc, but mainly freezing...
I've made a quick search, and I discovered that a ProRes 422 HQ footage is a 220 mbps and the transfert rate of the G Drive HDD is 165 mbps...
So I supposed that my problem is the bite rate of the footage is too much for the G Drive...
Is there a way to transcode the footage within the FCP6, like the Transcode in Avid?
Thanks!
