Making it louder

I'm not really sure what happened to the audio in the film Almost Number One,,,,I see a couple of the audio controls that might have be changed from before.

I've turned it up to 12 in FCP. Is there any other way to get the volume up? I might just re-record the audio but thats sounds like a lot of work.

Ok trying the audio mixer and that helps a lot. But more of the noise,,,humming sounds too,,,at least wearing headsets. I was able to take the overall levels up. Lots better. Going to try and see what happens on DVD

Duplicating your audio on the timeline will help this. Keep duplicating the tracks until you reach the desired level.

For more information see this article:

It's long so do a search for "stacking your audio tracks".

THis is a BAD idea. It is unfortunately taught in some places. AND it is totally unnecessary in FCP now. There is a gain filter that will allow you to boost clip levels on top of the volume automation.

You need to be carful with gain, look at some meters to make sure it's not in your output chain. If the waveform is really low slap whoever recorded it on the wrist and tell them to turn it up next time.

I did find the gain filter thanks. Looks better.
