Making DVD Advice

After using Adobe Premiere MPEG Encoder and exporting an MPEG2 16x9 DVD file I have 3 files (a 158mb movie clip, a 58mb audio file, and a 2mb m2v.xmpses file). I will be uploading these files so that my brother in the US can make DVD copies. He wants to use Nero. Are these the right files for making the DVD? I tried opening the files in PowerDVD and got nothing. So what are these files for if you can't view them to test them before burning a DVD?

Do you have any suggestions on easier ways to get an MPEG2 file onto a DVD (without using Premiere's Export to DVD function)? My brother doesn't have Premiere. If I just export a reguilar MPEG2 file will that work? Will Nero encode it to play properly on DVD players?

Thanks in advance!

You need an authoring program of some kind that is between the rendering and the burning. It takes as input your video and audio files (MPG, etc) , adds in any menus or control information, and outputs two directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. The audio dir is empty but should exist (required in some cases for compatibility) , and the video dir contains some control info and .vob files. These directories are the input to Nero.

Someone has to author a DVD, whether it is you or him.

Thanks galt. I'm just not sure if these 3 files will make a DVD using Nero DVD software. I'm sure Nero can convert any file into a DVD and make it compatible (creating the files you mentioned). Has anyone created a DVD just using an MPEG2 file and Nero DVD?

I believe that Nero can do what you want, but in regard to your three files, it would be easier if you could get them down to one. The easy way to do this is in the Premiere MPEG export dialogue. Just make sure that the multiplexing option is checked, and you will end up with one file that contains both the audio and video.
