Making an object Color in a B&W image

A movie shot with a DVX100a in color, and then turned B&W in post is what we are looking at doing, however we would like to have some objects throughout, (red lipstick, red dress etc...) so be a bright vibrant red in contrast to the B&W 1940's look... Any help on how to create this effect...

Thanks

This has been covered a lot. Do a searrch.
Basic answers- Layer the same clip on itself. Turn the bottom layer B&W.
If the item has a unique color you may be able to apply a key to the top layer that matches that item. The BW image will come through where the color isn't found.
Your other option is to rotoscope. This involves creating animated splines around the option you want to keep colored. FCP has a crude 8 point garbage matte filter but to do this for real youi'll need After Effects or Commotion.

You can also use your color corrector to isolate a color, desaturate it, and then invert.
