Anyone have any good and affordable insight on how to make an at899 wireless. Do I need to buy and AT transmitter and tuner?

This transmitter you can use a battery for phantom and transmit wirelessly:

This transmitter has Phantom power

Because the AT899 has a XLR plug in and has a battery for phantom, it will work with any plug in transmitter, whatever tha brand.

Keep in mind that you're going to need both a transmitter and a receiver. The best way to get a system going is to buy a Sennheiser kit with the plug-in transmitter included:

You get everything you need to run your 899 wirelessly, plus you get a beltpack transmitter and a lav mic for it as well. You can only run one transmitter at a time, so you can't have your 899 plugged into the plug-in transmitter and the beltpack with the lav sending their signals to the one receiver at the same time. But it gives you the option to do one or the other.
