How should I wire a MixPre and Sennheiser transmitter together.
I need one female XLR and one 3.5mm stereo plug but how should I wire those together as I know that the line goes to the ring of the 3.5mm plug. Should I somehow unbalance the line out from the MixPre or...

Thanks,
T

XLR pin 2 goes to mini TRS ring; XLR pin 1 goes to TRS sleeve with jumper to tip; XLR pin 3 unused. See MixPre manual page 6

MixPre line output to G2 transmitter line in, so wireless MixPre I had in mind for wireless reference audio from MixPre to camcorder.

XLR pin 2 goes to mini TRS ring; XLR pin 1 goes to TRS sleeve with jumper to tip; XLR pin 3 unused. See MixPre manual page 6. Note that SD's suggestion to keep pin 3 unconnected is a little different from the conventional way to unbalance a balanced XLR where pin 3 is grounded but I'd trust they know what they're talking about.

You could also take the tape out from the MixPre to the G2 transmitter. TRS on the MixPre TRS would have tip and ring both connected to the TRS ring on transmitter end while the sleeve at MixPre end goes to sleeve on G2 end, G2 sleeve shorted to tip. That would keep both of the MixPre main XLR line outs free to use to send stereo to an audio recorder, 2nd camera, or what have you. You would have to be careful not to reverse the plugs since they are identical looking but wired differently.
