Didn't know what forum to post this.

Just finnished a broadcast content shot with the af100 in video mode.(great results) 1080p

Edited in CSppro 6 on win 64. TRanscode to dnxhd 720p then to export to S.D.

I want to keep the wideness of the shots so How do I make this into a letter box to broadcast in S.D.

Thanks

Generally, all you need to do is take your video (the transcode to 720p should do -- but why 720p?), put in an SD sequence (not widescreen), scale the video down so that the entire image is in the frame (you will see black at the top and bottom) and then export in your SD format.

Depending on what this is for, you may have to worry about broadcast colors.

You don't need the DNxHD export for this. If fact, it's better not to use it.

Go back to your original sequence, and export out to the desired settings. If you need a 4:3 export, select the Scale to Fit option and the black bars will be automatically added.

I transcoded to 720p dnxhd because acvhd was to taxing on system.

I am editing in 720p because i want it as my master.

What issues will exporting to sd.29.30 letterbox can I encounter?

This will be broadcasted in local public television.

I will greatly appreciate your experienced input on this matter.

Thanks

There's a couple things to consider; if the people in their homes have 16:9 monitors, then they will see squeezed images with black bars, while those with 4:3 monitors will have proper aspect ratio with letterbox. You may very well be better served to deliver a 16:9 full height anamorphic and let the broadcaster add the 16:9 tags so that the TV can do the proper aspect ratio playback. That's a discussion to have with your local public television station and a guess as to how many people in your viewing public have 16:9 monitors.
