Making a Demo Reel

On my external drive I have 8 completed projects all of which are Self Contained Files. Now if I wanted to take excerpts from each of those projects to incorportate into a demo reel how do I go about doing this? I think I know how to bring a SCFile back to the timeline but will I be able to do split edits and take away certain shots and only used what I want?

I just came up with that idea yesterday! I have been making short demo versions (trailers) of each individual project but I thought it might be better to just make one that will showcase what I can do across the board instead of showing one project.

I still have the raw footage but its on tape. I would have to recapture it. Some of the shots are effects that took me 3-5 hours to create.

any thoughts?

Forgive if Im stating the obvious - but - if you have self contained files already.Is'nt it just a case of - creating a new seq & importing all 8 files in & just re-editing them as a normal project.
Just capture everything you need from tape & get all your clips & just splice them up & export as you would with any other projects.

??? unless I've completley missed the point ?

sorry man, I have been up late covering the hurricane that is hitting the east coast then I come home and stay up late editing projects so I might not be in my right mind set when i posted this.
