Making a Countdown

Has anyone made their own countdown for use when you print to tape or export to dvd? I know there is one included when you print to tape but I wanted to have my company logo on the screen or whatever and have the numbers counting down with the beep sound for every second that is ticked away.

I snagged an old, ratty broken down 35mm one from the extras on an old DVD, took it into AE for some surgery, and turned into a roiling pyrotechnic count. Looks groovy, but I didn't create it from scratch.

I've made many countdown slates for commercial work I've done. It's all limited to how much time you want to put into it. I use After Effects and create a quicktime file, which I then import into FCP.
Let me back up, do you have Photoshop and After Effects? (if not, stop reading) If so, create a template in photoshop. Title, client, date, whatever you feel relevant.
Using After Effects you can make #'s (9,8,7,6.....and so on), and then have them fade up (or drop in, or whatever) on the screen in 1-second intervals. When you bring your movie into FCP and put it on the timeline, you can sync up your beeps with the numbers.
Don't use the stock FCP countdown, it's lame!!!!!
