yeah except you forgot you cant just use cmount lenses on m4/3 without using ETC mode whick makes the lens a 65mm do to the 2.6 crop so your actually making a 32.5mm with the 0.5 wideangle adapter and it will still look like ****... soft cause the lens, noisy from the ETC mode

You can actually use some C-mount lenses (typically 25mm and up) without ETC engaged.

However, quality and usability can be sketchy and that Chicom 0.5x sure won't help IQ.

My understanding is that front of the lens wide angle adapters dont really lose any light besides minor transmission loss through the extra element(s). They usually dont darken the image, just destroy your image quality and widen the frame.

Where are you getting 2stops loss? If there was a loss proportional to the 0.45x focal length change wouldnt it be 2-1/3 stops loss, making it a f2.2 lens?

i call bs. this is a prime lens designed by noktor, not slr magic. yes it will have their name on it, and yes they have put their name on some crap before, that doesnt mean anything regarding this lens. saying its a cctv lens with a cheap WA adapter stuck on the front is kind of stupid, cctv lenses dont have 12 blade irises, nice smooth focus rings, solid build quality and they dont produce images like what we have seen in the examples so far. theres alot of older MF lenses that have a similar design to this lens too.

Yeah, so I got pretty excited about this idea and bought a zeikos wide angle on ebay for 10 bucks and i decided to look into this whole thing and compare my 25mm Nokton with .45x adapter against my tokina 11-16mm. What i found was that the Nokton with the adapter are closer to 16mm than 12mm. If anyone would like, I can grab some footage where I go through the focal lengths of an 11-16mm lens and compare it against the Nokton and .45x adapter. I say no matter what, it's the image that speaks, not the math. Anyone in?

This is what you get with a x0.45 adapter in front of the 25/0.95:

First one without adapter and second with the x0.45.

This should be int he Gh2 section. Was looking for this and you just solved it.

What x0.45 are you using? And on what camera?

Seeing some vignetting in the corners, so maybe it's a matter of trying a different Wide Angle Adapter.

I'm more so interested in trying the Voigt 25/0.95 with a wide angle adapter.
