Make-up tips.

We always try to have a make-up person on a shoot. But it's not always possible. My wife has volunteered to learn about it, realizing finally that it's different than putting on your own make-up for work. Anybody know of any good books or videos? I've seen a few on make-up for the theatre, but that's not all that helpful.

I have one big recommendation that I've always gotten myself. Buy Ben Nye makeup.

Apparently, most non-theatrical/film makeup brands will turn into a Tammy Faye Bakker-like mess after a few hours under hot lights. Not so with Ben Nye. My makeup knowledge is very thin, but at least I know enough to have some good powders on hand so faces don't shine. there's a few tips at: http://www.cybercollege.com/makeup.htm but makeup is a real art and skill.
