Make-Up Kit

I've always been in the habit of keeping some base/foundation in my grip box, just in case the need arises to tone down the shine on someone. But lately I have been finding myself on shoots where having a bit more might help.

I know there are issues with hygiene, so extra brushes and applicators would be a given, but that's about al I know.

I have no intention of being the make-up department either when I am doing client based work, or on indie projects. But I like having stuff handy that can help out.

Anybody have suggestion/experience with a basic make-up kit?

Sure, Jim. The foundation is for the "actors". Come on, come clean. LOL

Sorry. I couldn't help it. Actually the only thing I carry is my moulage stuff (trauma/sfx)

I asked several Make up artists the same question and what brands they use.
They told me to use
Grimas Crème Make-up "K-Palette

or Kryolan "Theater&Film Supracolor Palette N" .

It´s grease/creme make-up and fool proof to use for a Non-makeup-person like me.

What it does is to cover all blemish/spots and what not and gives a even surface.
Over that you apply a layer of Anti-Shine Powder or Ultra Setting Spray of the same company to remove shine and to fix the makeup.

An other "respected" brand is Ben Ney http://www.bennye.com/

Also watch this - helped me a lot.

P.S. and stay away from everything you find in the wives purse, it is not made to look good under 2K Fresnells.
