Make me a logo?

If anyone's seen the new KING KONG, that's the font & looks I can imagine for Callaghan Films ... the one that was used in the title/credis...
You nailed what I had in mind, Norm:2vrolijk_08:

If you run with that direction/idea, I should be good for at least one good stogey, right? :nads:
Done, and done my friend

It's funny, but I was already working on an AE Comp in that exact vein before I read this reply. I'll show you what I've got shortly.

Just a little something.
sleek design, my man.

Edit: Not to be a nitpicker, but there is no space between Callaghan & Films

:dankk2: for taking the time to do this.

Here's a simple one for you logo design dudes. Rice Rocket Films. (Rice rocket meaning fast, small Japanese import cars).

ok while you're at it how about doing one for me? The Zarbaugh Motion Picture Company or Ravines Edge Productions. Thanks

I didn't have much time, but here's a quick comp, just to get the idea across. Imagine it with a proper orchestral fanfare - something aking to 20th Century Fox. If you like it, I can make it better:

http://media.putfile.com/Callaghan-Films
You have just floored me with that one, AZ!! I am especially impressed with the detailing in the fonts & your use of the classic footnote (Roman numerals and all!)

Yes, I do like it very much. If you can, I would love to see where you could go with this concept.

A few minor changes...

-I am glad that you used the old style of descriptive words (that were so often used in trailers of big productions of the time.) If possible, change the adjectives themselves (since it'll be my work, I wouldn't want to seem too cocky.)
I was thinking "It's Epic!" .... "It's One of a Kind!" .... "It's a CallaghanFilms Production".

-The way you broke up CallaghaN
..........................................FilmS
is fine, but at the bottom (the footnote) I would like it without a space...CallaghanFilms.

Otherwise it is perfect.

Cheers:beer:on a job done very well.

Edit: ...and you're right about the fanfare-like music!

Edit #2: I changed the descriptive words above.

For Larry's comment: Larry, I didn't know you were burned previously by that other place, but I can comment on your logo, having had the opportunity to see the previous drafts/revisions as you narrowed it down. Larry now has a very CLEAN and bold logo that'll be awesome for any kind of print/embroidery work. The trick (shouldn't be too much of a stretch) is to have a killer film animation that'll tie into that same exact logo for his video/film work.
I can't believe I never told you about that fiasco Norm..after paying $65 and waiting several weeks, this is what I got back:

Then after trying to explain to them what I was really after, this was the final logo:

Needless to say I was rather dissappointed. But as you know, after going to OnlineLogo I got the great logo: http://www.nrestudios.com/images/narrowroad.gif

I have to say I have been very impressed with the work going on in this thread...you guys have some real talent. If you get bored or want something else to mess with, I am in need of a good animated version of my logo. I have one idea, but am open to others. I will detail the idea I had, and if any of you have time to try it or if you have other ideas and time to try them I'd be forever greatful :love4: :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Here's the idea I had:

We fade in on a spinning globe in the bottom portion of the screen (I was thinking something along the lines of this globe: http://www.fotosearch.com/SBY108/18418gng). The globe would be spinning towards the viewer and light would begin to glow from behind shining upwards, almost like rays of sunlight shooting up from the top and out from the sides. Then as the globe continues to spin the "camera" would zoom in closer and closer until the land is speeding by and then tighter and tighter until we are following a tree-lined road. As we speed down this road, the sun would finally rise above the horizon (the source of the earlier light rays) and in the distance the road would turn to the right.. then the whole image would morph/fade into the actual logo (http://www.nrestudios.com/images/narrowroad.gif).

That's the idea, good, bad, or otherwise. Like Norm, I feel a little bad about asking, but unlike Norm I don't feel a lot bad about asking  My feeling is, if you are open to doing the work, great...but if you don't want to, aren't interested, etc, etc,...it's no loss since I don't have one now anyway

Thanks, and again, great job on the other logos.

Peace,
Larry

Larry, WOW, you're right ... those logos were absolute crap. The one you have is simply AMAZING compared to those previous ones.

Now, for all you other thread jackers ... can we PLEASE remember that I thread jacked this FIRST?!!? Apparently Callaghan Films (oops, is there a space in there?) is more exciting than IMPACT PRODUCTIONS. :)

Hey man, give me a minute. I'm workin' on it :):furious3:

Thanks, like I said, I think the high end luxury home market would love to see my name linked with the destruction of planet earth.

Yes, that's sarcasm. :)

On another note, that planet pic/FX is awesome! Did you create that, or find it somewhere?

Just found the pic browsing the web. On some astronomy site or something. I ain't that good at graphics ;)

Cool, Silverwolf, but do you think that look (without the blackbackground) would also go with the site I posted on page 8: "Oh, if anyone wants to see the template for IMPACT PRODUCTIONS, that I'm hoping to tailor for the site, you can find it here (template #7070): http://www.templateshome.com/templates-show.html?author=&category=any+category&keyword=70 70&price1=&price2=&x=48&y=10 "?

I tend to be drawn more towards a Bankgothic or other bold, impact style font vs. the one that's used above, but the comet's cool (funny how everyone thinks of comets with the name Impact) ... if the comet were used in a motion intro, I can see it tearing across the screen, nearly going off screen altogether before it changes course and then slams straight into the audience (fills screen as it comes at us, then flies past slight overhead, or smash cut to black or white) - at least my first thought of what could be done ... again, others may have other ideas better than what I just said.

Briceman, yeah, that graphic is hot. I love how the atmosphere explodes into space from the hit, as well as the ripple/swell from the hit moving across the earth's surface. Most certainly a fatal hit. If THAT could be animated, I'd maybe even change the whole stance on not associating Impact Productions with the destruction of planet Earth. :)
