i know how to make keys in audio for pand and volume but there all linear fro pont a to point b... how do i make it curver more or be non linear like u an with the footage with the pen vertex tool? the pe vertex tool doesnt seem to work for the audio.
I just go down to the audio track on the time line.
Increase the size of the clip to maxx to see what you are doing.
Click the see audio line in the bottom left hand corner, (a red line should appear across the audio clip).
Add a key at the start and at the end (a+b),
then add 3-4 more keys in between these move them up and down to create a curve rather than a straight line from point a to B.
Can't be done in FCP, but I've been doing it with the linear faders for years and it's all good. Sounds identical to other programs that have more of a bezier curve.
Well to be fair- most pro picture editors finish their picture edit and then hand off to a sound editor working in ProTools. So to expect FCP to be the best picture *and* sound editor is not really fair. You get curves just fine in SoundTrack Pro, which is part of the same package.
