Major Question about Fisheye for DVX!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard there's severe vignetting when the century optics .3x ultra fisheye is put on the dvx. Can this problem be fixed or do you just have to deal with it. I would hate to film with it being like that, is there some other alternative? Thanks....

Unfortunately, as far as I know, century is the only one that makes a fisheye for the DVX. As far as the vignetting goes, you might be able to fix it in post by actually zooming in/increasing the scale of the frame to where the vignetting does not show. I have never used one, so I dont know if in fact the lense does vignet. You might also be able to physically zoom the camera in while you record, but I know that the fisheye is a non-zoom through adapter, plus zooming would reduce the fisheye effect.

the "regular" fisheye doesn't produce a vignetting problem or at least not a significant one, as far as I can tell.  vs. "ultra"

???

Somebody should post some test still images straight from the camera, in png format. And this time some outdoor pictures, please. Hopefully with some straight lines from buildings etc, so we can see the amount of barreldistortion

I have some pictures but don't have any place to put them on the web. On some shot, there are some little vigneting viewable when you watch it underscan but on overscan, you won't see them at all. You'll have to turn off the OIS. If you want to show it on an underscan monitor, and don't want vignettes, just zoom a little bit!

the first 2 photos are w/ the .3x ultra fisheye. major vignetting. the 3rd photo is w/ century's regular fisheye. if you're in for the extreme sports vignetting look, then i guess the ultra will be fine. otherwise go w/ the reg fisheye. less barrel distortion but more professional looking imho.
