Major issues with Tiger/FC Studio

So... I just went almost two weeks without my system because it was "in for repair". Here is what I am running: Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5 maxed out. Final Cut Studio, Tiger with all updates, Quicktime 7, etc. Here is the deal:

I did some test footage at 60i so that I could try out some slow mo. Hooked the camera up after the upgrade, and changed the capture preset to include ANAMORPHIC and 60i. That is all. I then tried to capture, and it completely errors out. After that change, I am no longer able to capture with ANY setting. 24p, standard DV, anything. Everytime, it comes up with either a dropped frame error as soon as it flashes the first frame in either "capture now", or "batch capture". OR it gives a strange "General Error" without any further info. Apple seemed stumped after 8 hours on the phone. I tried other tapes and cameras -- same thing. Dropped the system off at the store, and they kept it for over 10 days without finding anything. Finally, I went in with my camera -- and tried the exact same thing on another G5 that they had on display. IT DID THE SAME THING! The guys at the store said that it is obviously an issue with either the OS or FCP5. GREAT.

On top of that, extended exports using compressor crash FCP at about 80%. System has been rebuilt from scratch three times. Project has been saved and imported into another one. I cannot get this project out with Compressor 2 at all.

So... as it stands, I cannot capture correctly... cannot export correctly... and am totally screwed. Lost tons of time on this so far.

Lesson? Don't upgrade until the issues have been ironed out.

Does anyone else have this configuration, and are you able to work fine? If so, can you try to do a capture with 60i & Anamorphic checked off?

Thanks...
