Major Help Needed

I am currently working on a feature as an assistant editor and we've encountered a huge problem with all
the footage, it was shot on the varicam and for some
reason the audio is out of sync by two frames, have
you ever heard of this problem? is it because the
audio is captured wrong on the camera or might it be a
post problem? the master tapes are also out of sync by
2 frames so this suggests it was from the camera. Do you know of anyone who has had this same
problem and if they have found a way to fix it. What steps can be taken in post without having to manually sync every clip?

Appreciate it if anyone can help.

Thanks

This is normal. Just slip the audio two frames forward manually as you cut. A pain, but an inherent Varicam thing.

Doesn't FCP have a "slip the audio by two frames" setting on capture? Or is that for DV only?

The DVX100 had the same issue, and I'm pretty sure I remember FCP introducing an option to fix it upon capture. Might work for the Varicam footage too. But as I'm not an FCP user, it's entirely possible that I'm totally off base with this.
