This is the weekend of death for harddrives. I have a 250gb internal drive on a win 2000 system running service pack 3. I did a defrag and instead of saying "defrag complete" at the end ,it just quit. I started the defrag process again and was told ...defrag could not initialize. So I reboot the entire system. During the win startup, the error checking window pops up and works for a good five minutes on this drive. When windows is finally up, I check the contents of this drive and there in nothing but a few files left all renamed with windows gibberish recovery names and such. Everything else 40 some odd gb of info files and clips is gone? The drive seems to be physically healthy and no virus activity. Does anyone have any Ideas for recovering this lost info.....And yes, Though I had intended to back up this stuff, It was never done...I procrastinated one too many times.........ANYONE????
