Maine Media Workshops... anyone taken some?

Digital. I'm really interested in the classes on visual storytelling. What classes did you take, and did you like them? Worth your time?

For technical content you should attend Michael Minocks Digital Cinematography class, a good add on is the Panasonic HD class, additionaly the DIT classes by Lewis Rothenberg is pretty good.

For steadicam Paul Taylors classes are a must, even if you have had lessons its always good to re-visit a workshop.

As far as visual story telling there are DoP master classes but they are based on film and theory.

Their documentary clases (or similar) a little too basic in my opinion.

Rockport is well worth you time and money as they have a very full schedule with only a week to get it to you. Most of the classes I mentioned are not for the faint of heart, they are very intensive and move very fast.

Take this test to determine your level:

Hope this helps,

Looks like a very nice class, I would still reccomend the Michael Minock classes as well, the more you understand what goes on under the hood, it makes you better storyteller as you can manipulate your tools better to focus on what you want.

PS: Mike is very brutal, 18 hour days with enough content to keep your head spinning for years.:zombie_smiley:
