Has anyone here done this? from the site it seems as if its 2 and a half months long. But i don't know the structure of the program regarding cost of the program and courses included in this program. Couple questions:

1. Is this something like over the 2 months you have a set courses at a set flat price? Or is it that you have to choose the courses and pay for each separately?

2. And what about residency... how does that work?
3. Also...is this program any good ?:)
4. Requirements to get in?

I emailed them awhile ago but i;d also like to know first hand experience from you guys?

I see that there are week long workshops but travelling from Jamaica, I'd really like something more substantial and the opportunity to be around like minded people for longer than a week.

Don't know anything about the residency program. I took a cinematography course there maybe 5 years ago (it was called Rockport at the time - before it changed ownership). Definitely a great place. It is intense because you spend all day in class or on projects as well as most nights. But, you can get loads out of it. When I was there (1 week) there were about 16 people in my class and probably about 6 of them were taking a couple of classes back to back and were going to be there for 3 weeks, atleast. There were people from everywhere. Mexico, South America, Europe and The Philippines in my class alone. You should talk to the people who work there now and ask them your specific questions. I hope this was helpful. PM me if you have any other specific questions.

thanks alot Tumbleweed for the info. I can imagine how diverse it was with all those people...sound REALLY cool. I dont mind being awake for a week :) Just wanted to know about the longer type course. Yeh i'm awaiting a response from them.

I am friends with a lot of the "former" teachers there. It seems recently since they had to re-structure to become a college, they had to let most of their senior staff go due to cost. I dont know how much has changed, I just know the people that made me go back there for more classes are not there anymore.

But here is what I do know:

- They provide discounts if you take multiple classes that are related.
- Residency allows you to take all the classes and then stay as a Teachers Assistant (at very low pay) to audit the classes and get more hands on time.
- Most classes do have pre-requisites but honestly, if you can fog a mirror you can get into any class you want.

Since they have a lot of manufacturer support you will probably get a lot of hands on time with high-end gear. That is definitely a plus. Also they have been doing this for a long time so they have a pretty good curriculum in place.

Hope this helps.
