Same place it is in V5. Right click the media you want to remove flicker from select SWITCHES then choose REDUCE INTERLACE FLICKER. Or select some media click EDIT, SWITCHES, REDUCE INTERLACE FLICKER. or... right click the media select properties and click REDUCE INTERLACE FLICKER.
I think I am missing one or two more places....Hmm.
Viola. A slight blur is added and Flicker should be gone.
as for differences:
The major one is Bezier Masking!
(Green Screen without the need of having a Green Screen.
Cut a person out of the video and put them in another background while they are moving. ) Just draw your mask and keyframe away, simple.
Next would be 3D compositing,
Hard to explain but you can manipulate the video in a 3D environment. Have one video turned sideways and have another video pass thru it. Really cool what you can do with this. Oh well I tried...
Next would be much better track motion features
Glow and Shadow and Mask Features
Zoom in & out of the work space so you can see what your working on.
Better setup of the workspace and buttons.
They made it so that it was just a faster workspace to edit video than before. Easier to do the hard stuff now.
I would recommend the upgrade. In fact now that I upgraded I don't use after effects or boris fx anymore. Don't need to. Vegas 5 does everything they do and better. I don't find myself using photoshop to make video masks anymore either.
Don't get me wrong I use photoshop all the time in video but I haven't made a video mask in PS since the upgrade. That saves loads of time.

I haven't opened After Effects in months. I used it mainly for the bezier masking that I can now do directly on my timeline. Thanks, Vegas!

Zensy, don’t be so worried about the differences between the PAL DVX and the NTSC DVX. Almost everything we discuss applies to both (and it sure does here, about Vegas 5!). The only major difference is the frame rate. There are a few differences in vertical resolution and colorspace, but most of the time, that doesn’t matter, unless you’re working on detailed effects or color correction or worried about transfer to film.
