Magnifying HVX LCD

Has anyone come up with something good to magnify the HVX lcd? I'm thinking of something like a gameboy/gamegear magnifying screen.

Also has anyone used a magnifying mirror (like a make-up mirror) on the lcd for their 35mm adaptor?

Hoodman makes a hood that will fit the LCD, and there is an optional magnifying lens for it. I've used the hood, but not the lens.

Hey Thoff, I checked that site, thanks. Just wondering though, isn't the HVX LCD 3.5 inch? The hoodman says it's for 3 inch?

You might try to find a rectangular magnifier like the ones shown on this page. 4"x2" seems to be the standard size, but there is one that is 11"x7"

I'm curious about how you intend to use the magnifier. Is the idea to be able to read focus better, or is it just to relax the eye?

Pretty much just for focus but was wondering if it distorts the image. I don't want to buy anything unless I can test it first or someone here has recommended it. Can't buy anything in my town.

I was going to ask the same question . . .

Putting any kind of magnifier in front of the LCD is only going to make things look worse (and probably distorted).

Your options are pretty much using the focus assist, eye piece, camera mounted monitor (like the Marshall), or an external monitor like the 17" Panasonic (this assumes you are not going to have to move).
