The DVX uses a magnet with the flip out screen to 'flip' the screen upside down when the LCD screen is pointing towards the object/person being shot (i.e. if a reporter were to do his own standup).
The use of the magnet replicates the use of the internal magnet on the dvx, flipping the screen upside down while keeping the LCD oriented towards the rear (camera operator).
